Children of celebrities all, these young women aspire to seek their own moment in the sun. Verve takes a look at gently unfolding careers
This Kapoor girl was not swayed into setting the silver screen ablaze, her illustrious lineage notwithstanding. Riddhima Kapoor, 23, in fact, evinces scant interest in following in her parents Rishi and Neetus footsteps towards the marquee. Rather, a fashion degree from the American University, London, helped her develop her designing ways. She initially toyed with the idea of opening an upmarket restaurant or a gymnasium "but the mushrooming of similar outlets all over Mumbai made me do a second think," she says. So fashion designing it is and she markets under the label, Riddhima. "Right now, I am focussing on the Dubai market with my kurtis," she says. A frank extrovert and, at the same time, extremely sensitive, Riddhima does plan to eventually make a special lasting appearance on the Indian fashion scene. A debut that, one is sure, her parents are keenly awaiting. |
