This season flaunt your blush, with flowers providing the perfect inspiration for summer's beauty forecast

Think lots of colour. Think roses, chrysanthemums and even sunflowers. Highlight your cheeks and eyes by tinting them with a dash of your preferred blossom. A rosy glow and a touch of colour are all you need. And to put her best face forward, we couldn’t think of anyone other than our cover girl, the spirited Simone Singh, television’s prettiest face and Bollywood’s favourite guest star. Make-up artist Subhash Vagal draws his brushstrokes from nature and, with soft floral hues, transforms the elfin beauty into an ethereal princess of petals.

Roses Are Pink… Beautiful Bouquet Chrysanthemum Craze

Simone Says:

I liked all the looks Subu (Subhash) tried. They each had a very fantastical feel, although my favourite is the last one.

I don’t like to spend too much time getting ready. Usually I just put on mascara, eyeliner and sometimes lip gloss. I don’t really use lipstick. Maybe once or twice a year.

I can’t do without my Kiehls’ lip balm.

I had a wild gypsy look during my teens. Obviously, externally my look has changed, as I’ve become older. I’d like to think that it’s more mature and grown up now.

I’ve had some funny hairdos when I’ve let people have their way with my look. I don’t really allow it anymore – I don’t want to end up looking like a caricature.

I’m absolutely the wrong person to ask about skin care. I don’t have any routine, I even sleep with my make-up on!

There’s nobody quite like Madonna. It’s quite fantastic the way she changes her look every few years. And Audrey Hepburn is just completely classic.

My favourite feature is definitely my nose.

I follow trends that are easy and not too time consuming. For example – whether matte lips are in as opposed to glossy, or something general like that. Nothing terribly complicated.

My favourite onscreen look is probably that of Heena. It’s a very simple and real look for that character. I also like Camilla’s look in Kal Ho Naa Ho, since it was so unlike me, and glam, which is always fun!

I absolutely hate it when people use a really dark lip liner with a light, frosted lipstick. Please don’t do that!
