RAGHAVENDRA RATHORE PRESENTS 'A JOURNEY THROUGH RAJASTHAN'
New Delhi – using the rich overtures of the Rajasthan colour palette, Jodhpur based designer Raghavendra Rathore presented ‘a journey through Rajasthan’ through his select collection at an evening hosted by Rajasthan tourism. The event was held at The Garden of Five Senses in New Delhi as part of the South Asian Travel & Tourism exchange.

Inspired by the spirit of Rajasthan, the presentation was a unique blend of imagery, sound and fashion. The unique show told the story of Rajasthan, beginning with the celebration of the desert, moving on to the forts and havelis that people needed to live in, followed by the imagery of the people. The sequence then moved on to their need for water and how they prayed for it. After the water and rain came the jungles and then the majestic tiger.

Some of India’s leading models including Anupama Verma, Tapur Chaterjee, Viveka Babajee and Noyonika Chatterjee sashayed down the ramp. The show also included local Rajasthani women in ghunghats as well as musicians from Rajasthan.

Celebrating the vibrancy of Rajasthan along with the SATTE delegates were former US ambassador’s wife, Jacqueline Lundquist, Bina Ramani, Dilshad Sheikh, Pakistani cricketer Waquar Younis and Sanjeev and Kavita Bali of Mount Shivalik.
