Madhuri Dixit and Mehr (Jesia) Rampal took our breath away as they preened for Verves cameras. Aglow with new motherhood, the two enduring divas showed us why they leave the competition far, far behind.
Even though she was worried about her baby son, Arin, who was unwell, Madhuri still remained as professional as ever. Chatty and amiable, she made a star-struck waiters day by striking up a conversation with him as she got her hair and make-up done in a suite at the JW Marriott. A few brushstrokes later, she emerged looking like the true celluloid queen that she is, and flashed the trademark smile that won the heart of a nation.
Endless legs and astonishing looks may make Mehr (Jesia) Rampal seem intimidating, but with her easy-going manner, Verves shoot with her was a pleasure. Floating in Tarun Tahiliani creations, she looked like she had just stepped out of a painting, and this is one model whom we sorely miss on the ramp.

Chic. Style. Class
And attitude. In keeping with the theme of Verves first issue of 2004, our fashion touched heights of urbance elegance and exclusivity.
Striped pant suits and intricately embellished jackets combined to create the look we were striving for, and experienced haute model, Joey Matthew, took to our diva role with ease. On a bright afternoon at the Intercontinental in South Mumbai, she slipped in and out of elegant ensembles, loving almost every moment of it. Catch a glimpse of her in the classy Mercedes
and you can see her oozing attitude
well, isnt that what a diva is all about? Matthew was cooperation personified, even as she bent and squatted in different locales
in and around the well-appointed hotel. And, as she lay down, languorously on the spotless floor, for a shot with a difference, heads turned for a closer look. You would have too, if youd been there. She did make an excellent picture!
As did, our other model, Mrudula Chandrashekar, at Panalal Silk Mills Pvt Ltd, Mazgaon, Mumbai. Unaffected by the factory factor, rather inspired by the location, our team swung into action
recreating floral magic on georgette and satin. As we played with prints and colours, black tassels and white scarves, to create a retro effect, Mrudula sat down nonchalantly on a sofa
and offered her best profile for the lensman. And, the wall lent ample support to our star for the day, as she leaned casually against it
or stood just in front of a big stretch, scrawled all over with writing. Fashion once again reinvented with all the magic and excitement that goes into our shoots. Lensmen Jatin Kampani and Hardeep Sachdev have conjured up the magic of timeless creations in Verves fashion, this quarter. Designs that will stand out, any where, any time!
