The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2004 grand finale in Mumbai

The largest fashion & lifestyle event in India -The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2004 , which kicked off in a grand fashion in Kolkata on the 27 th followed by New Delhi ,Bangalore and Hyderabad just this past weekend had the Fashion fraternity in full attendance. A month long fashion fare, the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour ended in Mumbai in a grand finale between March 26-27, 2004 . The two-day fashion extravaganza was held at the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton  Towers.

DAY ONE

Rocky S: BOULEVARD BENZER - Rocky’s collection is, in true Bollywood style, extremely glamorous. He uses chiffon, georgette and his colours compliment a woman’s femininity. Rocky gave us a glimpse of formal wear too. For the first time, he showcased his bridal collection, with influences from the Victorian era tailor made for the contemporary Indian. His customers Bipasha Basu, Hritik Roshan, Dia Mirza and VJ Sophiya were spotted at the show.

Aki Narula: The AKI NARULA Collection - Aki uses only white to express femininity. The collection is sporty and sexy. It’s white on the wild side! Inspired by a transition in tennis- From Martina Navratilova to Anna Kournakova. Aki’s collection is for the new age woman that is confident feminine and sexy.

Anshu Arora Sen: THE SMALL SHOP COLLECTION - Anshu says that, the attic and all things old inspire her collection. Cool and dreamy pastels with soft feminine cuts rule the collection. All in all, Anshu conforms to her reputation by bringing out her bohemian best. With The Small Shop she creates a bright Lolita look for the summer.

DAY TWO

Tarun Tahiliani - Created for the Milan Fashion Week for Spring Summer 04, Tarun’s collections is soft, colorful and sensuous. Moving away from traditional pastels,  he infuses electric energy with vibrant hues. Using self designed motifs with a bejeweled but subtle sophistication. The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour has been the only platform that showcased this world famous collection.

Commenting on his second year with the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, Tarun Tahiliani said, “My collection like Blenders Pride, is taste that speaks for itself”.

Manish Arora: FISH FRY - Lycra is the fabric, metallic are the colors and funky is the style. With exotic make up and hair styling, Manish’s line of fashion is symbolic of his breakthrough design statement. He says that his clothes “are definitely for the woman who wants to stand out in a crowd”.

Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna : CUE - It’s the time to disco! With this collection we get to witness a display a perfect range of club wear and party clothes. Silver, black and red are the colors. “Very glitzy and very glam”

The tour has featured the spring summer collection of all designers.
