Dino Morea, is of Italian descent and first hit the headlines when he won a glossy’s Supermodel Contest, four years ago. Now, he too has jumped onto the Bollywood bandwagon. Last year, he starred in Vikram Bhatt’s Raaz. This out-and-out hit, had Morea paired with former girlfriend, Bipasha Basu. Morea has walked the ramp for every major designer, appeared in numerous pop videos and is now hoping to become a Bollywood star. With three major releases slated in the next year, (including Shhh… Kajol’s younger sister Tanisha’s much talked about debut) this Bangalore hunk believes he has good reason to be optimistic.

Hindi? I must admit I did have a problem with my Hindi when I first entered the film industry but I took classes and have now overcome this obstacle.

Crossover films? It has always been my dream to be in a Hollywood film and I would love to be in a crossover film. According to me, there are two audiences in India – the mass audience which still wants Bollywood masala and the urban and international audience which prefers crossover cinema. I would want to be a part of both.

Rocky S? I work very closely with this fashion designer, as he is my stylist. A stylist discusses the story with a producer and director. He dresses the actor in a way that suits the character he is playing. I like to be very involved in this process and am even thinking of doing my own clothes.

A clothes horse? I do love shopping, especially when I travel abroad. I particularly have a preference for Hugo Boss and Zara. Yes, I guess you could call me a bit of a clothes horse.

Fav fashion item? I have this one Armani suit; it’s just beautiful. Though I rarely get to wear it except on some very special occasions.

The ramp? When I walked the ramp, I loved it. After entering films, I have had even more offers to walk the ramp then ever. But I do not have the time as I am always busy shooting. I was a part of the Lakme India Fashion Week, the first time it happened. It was good money.

Film fashion versus ramp fashion? Fashion is becoming more creative and bizarre in India. The ramp is where designers display creativity. I feel film fashion is more real.

Playing second fiddle? In Raaz, Bipasha did have the bigger role. But that does not matter; it’s about a whole film. A movie is about totality, every role matters.

The gossip mill? You learn to live with it in this industry. If you want to be in films, you have to be ready for it.

Being a household name? I was a well-known name before Bollywood because of my modelling work. And it feels fantastic to be a recognised face. Who in this industry does not want to be known?
