I have never believed that I’m better at my work, more famous or more beautiful than my Indian colleagues, even if I look different.

From the Czech Republic to India I completed my education and left home at 19, modelling for Shiseido, Nivea, Calvin Klein and Victoria’s Secret, which took me to Milan, Vienna, Singapore, Mexico City and Tokyo. Then, I came to Mumbai.

Supermodel status I was always a supermodel! (chuckling). No, seriously, the term is completely hyped up. There is no such thing. Abroad too, somebody just gets luckier than the others. I have never believed that I’m better at my work, more famous or more beautiful than my Indian colleagues, even if I look different.

Best-loved designer Manish Malhotra. In his fashion shows, there will always be one outfit I completely fall for and want to own. His clothes are wearable and drape beautifully. Right now, I am waiting for the ensemble that I have ordered from him – multi-hued, track pants and top, with a fab cut, made of slightly stretched cotton. Very sporty and stylish.

Style mantra I have realised that I feel my best when I’m wearing long, swirling skirts and dresses. This has less to do with my being Czech and more to do with my love for dancing and a sense of movement in my clothes. In colours, red, orange, hot pink, do it for me.

Fav outfit Blue track pants with a pink stripe that I picked up from Dubai. They conform to my body shape and I wear them everywhere. I feel very fit in them. I also love my black boots from Mango.

Party wear I hardly party. If it’s semi-formal, then an ankle-length skirt, slightly fitted top and boots. Irrespective of what I wear on the ramp, personally, I am not comfortable wearing anything that is too tight, too short or too loose. And I have never felt the compulsion to flaunt labels.

Haute brands Christian Dior. For their amazing clothes, bags and sunglasses. And now that I’m their model, I own a few too. Roberto Cavalli, for his exquisite cuts and Louis Vuitton, for their gorgeous handbags and shoes. Recently, I saw this beautiful LV bag which was sooo expensive. But, can you imagine me spending so much money? Never!

Hot accessory I’m mad about huge, dangling earrings. The kind you buy from street markets. In Jaipur, I bought lots of colourful, tinkling ones.

Make-up essentials Eyebrow pencil, mascara, silvery shadow for night, light pink for day, kaajal, eye-liner for night only and a little blush. I use only gloss for my lips because either you are constantly greeting people with kisses or eating up all your lipstick! Once I’m done with it, I don’t check my make-up because I never carry a mirror. Fav brand? Lakme, of course!

Style regret Buying clothes I won’t ever wear, shoes that I can’t walk in. High fashion garments that I don’t care about. I feel so guilty looking at them in my wardrobe that I think I shall donate the lot. Sometimes, you don’t realise the difference between what you really, really want and what you just want. Very often, you end up wearing none of the latter.

New title After Babuji… (the raunchy item number in Dum) I consider myself a performer. In public places, such as airports, I am more recognised as the Babuji girl than Yana, the model. In any case, I am now doing more stage shows than ramp modelling which, to me, is definitely more fun.

Fav style diva Jennifer Lopez. She is the best.
