The shopping spree that began and ended at 2Divine

We entered the 2Divine boutique in an upscale neighbourhood one evening. Mission: Find, love and purchase traditional wear for a cousin’s upcoming wedding. A tall order considering there were three extremely temperamental women to be styled and dressed. A resolute gold Buddha statue welcomed us at the entrance. This seemed like a positive enough sign and we entered the store that seemed to be jolted out of an era long gone – it was that grand!

What greeted us inside was a veritable air of regality. Lotus symbols, peacock motifs, sequined curtains, plush furnishings… everything fit for royalty. We were pleasantly surprised to find that besides garments by 2Divine itself, this ‘lifestyle temple’ also had an assortment of collections by premier designers such as Nupur Kanoi, Nandita Mahtani, Denim Story, Neeta Lulla, Ramona Narang and Surily Goel and many options in all things covetable ranging from shoes, bags and clutches to accessories, real jewellery, gifting articles, home décor and more. Moreover, 2Divine is known for its innovative designs in precious and semi-precious jewellery. They also customise jewellery for clients looking for exclusive designs. This was getting better and better. Not only were we totally spoilt for choice, but also overjoyed as the realisation struck that this place was a one-stop shop that addressed our wedding woes.

As the evening progressed, we discovered store-owner and entrepreneur Dimple Nahar seated in her own little chamber of secrets, the glass house of jewellery. As we got acquainted with the director of the Nahar Group, we also found out that she had been educated at some of the best design institutions in the country. Her professional ventures do not end just there, she is also a numerologist and Reiki healer. When asked about her flagship store, she went on to say, “This store not only gave focus to my inherent creativity but also allowed me to launch a unique shopping concept for premium and luxury retailers. Everything that I would love to buy and own, I want to sell from my store at value for money. I passionately planned the space and the goods are all selected and handpicked by me. The Emerald cabin in the store is available for trunk shows and exhibitions. The store marks a new beginning in the world of fashion and luxury.” Happy buys!
