Jewellery designer, Suchita Thakkar weaves designs by bringing together the ‘mythical and the real’

The fleur-de-lis adorning the logo of Suchita Thakkar Fine Jewellery embodies all that she is – elegant and detail-oriented. Suchita started designing jewellery at the age of 15.

For her, design is an inborn love. She studied at the International Gemology Institute (IGI). Contemporary diamond and traditional polki both comprise her creations.

Customising each piece to suit her client and turning their thoughts into reality is what Suchita enjoys. Currently, “my inspiration for my latest collection has been magical realism, a term that brings together the mythical and the real.”

She says, “I would’ve loved to design for my mother who was equally passionate about her jewellery and infused a strong aesthetic into me from a very young age that goes beyond just jewellery. I think she would’ve have loved that I am doing this and following my heart.”

A believer in inspiration striking anywhere, Suchita feels “when you are passionate about something, it will all work out for the best.”
